COMBINE CONTENTMENT WITH YOUR GODLINESS TO EXPERIENCE DIVINE SUPERABUNDANCE!

Hello Beloved,

The Lord has promised His children superabundant provision (John 10:10).  Unfortunately, most Christians today do not experience it despite their life of godliness. They fast, watch and pray.  However, they receive little because they lack an ingredient necessary for superabundance: contentment. “Now godliness with contentment is great gain”, says the Bible in 1 Timothy 6:6, which shows that godliness alone is not enough to live divine superabundance. It must go hand in hand with contentment.

Contentment is the feeling, even the happiness, that one feels when one is satisfied with what one has, however little it may seem. “(…) Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic.  But now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” (Numbers 11:4c-6): it is in these terms that Israel demanded, in the desert, the delicacies of Egypt (starter, main course and dessert) and looked with contempt at the manna that God sent them from Heaven to feed them (Psalms 78:24-25).

Like Israel, many children of God focus on what they lack instead of being grateful for what they already have. Don’t be an eternal dissatisfied person. You must learn to discern and value what you have already received and rejoice about it. I am not saying that we should not aspire for more. No, far from it! I am just making you understand this: do not despise the little you have; rejoice at what you have already received from God and give Him thanks for it.

Are you looking for a better paid job because you are dissatisfied?  Bless God for having the work you have at the moment because it enables you  to feed yourself and pay some bills, even if it is not enough. Do you feel that your partner is not giving you enough attention? Be happy to have one; many around you are longing after marriage! Bless God for the qualities of your spouse instead of focusing on his flaws alone. Is your body suffering? Bless God for the breath of life you have! Are you tired of the multiple breakdowns of your car? Be happy to have one, because many people around you don’t have one! Are the people in your church essentially children who come to rejoice to the sound of the drum? Don’t despise them! Rejoice for these souls that God has sent you!

Facing a crowd of 5000 people, not including women and children, the Lord Jesus had only five loaves of bread and two fish at his disposal. He did not look with contempt at what He had.  He rather rejoiced and gave thanks to God for this (Matthew 14:19). This attitude of contentment was a source of gain: the miracle of multiplication took place and the whole crowd was fed. There were even twelve baskets of leftovers!

Beloved, learn to be happy with what God has already given you, even if it seems insufficient to satisfy all your expectations. Be happy with what God did in 2019, even if you expected more. Know that this mentality of contentment will open great doors for you to possess your inheritance. Combine your godliness with contentment and you will see that it will become a great source of gain for you. You will then experience divine superabundance in all areas of your life!

May God bless you!
