Hello Beloved,
I would like to share my testimony with you. When I started travelling overseas by plane, I ultimately accumulated a lot of miles and I asked the Lord to grant me the grace of being upgraded to business class, despite my economy class ticket. I told the Father that this would allow me to feel more comfortable and rest during the flight so that I can reach my destination in good shape, ready to start my program. God heard my prayer. As a result, on several trips, the company used my miles to upgrade me. Then, this grace stopped; on a few trips, I was no longer upgraded! I then returned to the Father in prayer to implore His grace. He asked me why I wanted to travel in business class. I gave him the same reasons I had given at first. And the Lord then challenged me and asked me to consider my heart. He opened my eyes to the feeling of superiority that began to take root in my heart when I was sitting in business class and I saw others passing by to sit in economy class. In the eyes of men, I was the same pastor, I was courteous to others who greeted me on the way. However, God saw pride in me because I was beginning to look down on others. Then I allowed myself to be searched by the mirror of God’s Word and I confessed my sin before God. So I asked him to purify me of this stain that was inside me. He did it and my prayers were answered again!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” says the Bible in 1 John 1:9. When the mirror of the Word of God reflects your shortcomings back to you, you must confess them. Confession is the act of admitting your fault (Proverbs 28:13), of acknowledging your sin. It’s about pinpointing what didn’t work. When you confess, it is then that God purifies you from all uncleanness. Purification allows the Lord to cleanse what has been the source of your problem. In my case, it was pride. In order to prevent this evil from reappearing, God, through purification, eradicated what caused this fault. He cleanses the source of the evil by giving a heart that is completely purified to avoid any recurrence.
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” says the Bible in Hebrews 10:22. So, Beloved, let God search your heart, let the mirror of His Word reveal your mistakes, expose your motivations, your motives: is it pride, lust, the desire to be seen or to boast? Is it jealousy, envy, anger, fear? When the Holy Spirit reveals to you what has led you to make a mistake, ask Him to purify you from all unrighteousness and to give you a new heart. Behold Christ through the Word and ask God to transform you into His image (2 Corinthians 3:18). No matter how ugly your sin is, do not feel guilty but be honest, confess it with a sincere heart and believe that the Holy Spirit not only forgives you, but purifies you from all unrighteousness. Then, “You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you…” (Job 22:27a).
May God bless you Beloved
