Hello Beloved,
In Exodus 33:1-3, the Father announces to Moses that He will lead his people to a new territory, to the promised land and that He will send an angel before them. I particularly like Moses’ answer: “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here”. (Exodus 33:15).
Moses was looking for one thing only: the presence of God. He did not see himself moving forward with God’s people to Canaan, without the presence of the Lord, even though God had promised to send his angel to walk with them. “For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth? “Moses said again before asking the Lord: “Show me Your glory”. (Exodus 33:18).
This glory is what man was deprived of when he sinned. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”, says the Bible in Romans 3:23. You have not been deprived of material goods, healing, employment, marriage, deliverance, etc., but you have fallen short of the glory of God. As I told you in my exhortation last week, as long as you have not seen the glory of God, you will always be thirsty, despite the answers you receive for many of your prayers. Perhaps you have got the marriage you have always sought in prayer. However, you are now longing childbearing. And when the child comes, you may still face other challenges (such as health, tensions in your relationship) for which you will have to call upon God. “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again”, says the Bible in John 4:13.
The Samaritan woman was thirsty. She thought she could quench that thirst with marriage. She tried five different husbands, but it didn’t work. She was trying a 6th man when the Lord Jesus met her at the well and offered her to drink His water: the one that could quench her thirst once and for all!
In your prayers, seek first all the glory of God. The Lord does not tell you to give up on your earthly possessions but to seek His glory and presence first of all. This is what we mean by prayer that produces superabundance! “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst, says the Lord Jesus in John 6:35. He is indeed the Only One able to quench your thirst and satisfy you. Just like Moses, ask for the presence of God in your requests and in your walk with Him.
If you seek the glory of God when you seek funding for a business, you will see God manifest. Thus this business will be a complete success and a blessing to others, and it will contribute to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. In the same vain, if you are yearning to see the glory of God in your marriage, if you allow yourself to be guided by His Word, God will lead you in your choice. He will then show you His glory by giving you the spouse and children you desire so that you will be fulfilled on all levels. This is how you will experience real happiness. Your home will not only abound with the glory of God, but it will also be a source of blessing for many.
To show His glory to Moses, God hid him in the cleft of the Rock (Exodus 33:21-22). This spiritual Rock was Christ, as 1 Corinthians 10:4 reveals it. So thirst for Christ; seek His presence in your life before anything else, thirst to see His glory and it will be manifest in your life and in the answers to your prayers. Then goodness and mercy will follow you every day!
May God bless you Beloved
