Good morning [subscriber:firstname | default:Beloved],
In my exhortation today, we are going into spiritual warfare. It is written in Ephesians 6:12 that it is not against flesh and blood that we are to wrestle (i.e. not against humans) “… but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Spiritual warfare is a reality and Christians must be aware of it.
Let me give you a testimony. I understood the reality of spiritual warfare when I was a student preaching the gospel in classrooms. I would do it during breaktime and the students would make noise. I barely had their attention and some even shouted “Shut up!” But this did not discourage me since the Bible advises us to preach the gospel in and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). I still managed to win some souls to the Lord, but it was not easy.
Then I came to Abidjan during the holidays. At the Assembly of God church where I progressed, we had a neighborhood evangelism program. We were a few young people, with two or three speakers, we set chairs for the people and a keyboardist. Despite our invites to the program, the chairs remained almost empty. This did not prevent us from shouting God’s Word into the microphones so that the neighborhood would hear the gospel. While we were praying for the program, God, in His grace, opened my eyes and I saw above the neighborhood a platform on which demons were walking. The gospel we preached touched no heart. We then prayed to destroy this platform, in Jesus’ name, and on the same day, people were sitting on all the chairs set. Local residents came to attend the program and we won several to Christ!
When I went back to school, I applied the same principle. I would wake up around 4 a.m. and send fire to destroy the spirits that prevented students from hearing God’s Word. God opened my eyes again and I saw how my prayers wreaked havoc in the spiritual world. During breaktime, there was such a tremendous change! As I evangelized, the students were calm, they listened attentively to me and many turned to the Lord. We had started the school’s prayer cell with about fifty students. By the end of the year, we were a thousand! Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus!
Spiritual warfare is a reality, Beloved. Ephesians 6:12 mentions categories of evil spirits. There are many evil spirits that paralyze many things in the lives of God’s sons and daughters. They are slyly behind many hindrances. It is important to fight them spiritually if we want to see clearly in certain areas. Use all the weapons that God avails you with and war against the spirits that fight and slow you down. Go to war and set free families, villages. Cast out in the name of Jesus the spirits of celibacy, poverty, misery, sickness, unemployment, barrenness, etc. “No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house“, says the Bible in Mark 3:27. Bind and paralyze all those evil spirits fighting you and your family in Jesus’ name! Snatch from the enemy the preys he holds captive, in the name of Jesus!
God’s Word emphasizes in Romans 8:37“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us “. Know that in Christ, your victory is assured.
God bless you !
