God, my Father !

God, my Father !

Hello [user:firstname | default:Beloved],

It is written in Proverbs 4:3a: “When I was a son to my father“. Why such a statement from Solomon, the son of David and Bathsheba (2 Samuel 12:24)? Another version “Septuagint Translation)” gives us a better insight: “I also was a son obedient to my father “.

The Lord Jesus, in teaching you to pray, asks you to call God your Father and to consider Him as such.  Also, this scripture from Proverbs 4:3a emphasizes one fact: you must absolutely be a good son/ daughter to your God. You will then see your years increase (Proverbs 4:10) and you will then be able to enjoy the privileges of your status as a child of God. But this implies a constant and permanent fellowship with Him!

A good son receives his father’s instruction. He receives his words and observes his teachings because in doing so, he will live (Proverbs 4:4). Are you a good son/ daughter to your heavenly Father? Do you keep His commandments? “Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you.” says the Lord (Proverbs 4:5).

A good son takes care of the inheritance he gets from his father. The prodigal son in Luke 15:11-24, did obtain his inheritance but he cut off all fellowship with his father and squandered his possessions with the prostitutes. As a result, he lost everything! Did the blessing you received from God taken you away from Him? Are you still diligent in prayer, in the meditation on the Word, in the gathering of saints?

Beloved, do not forget that a good son/daughter of God must maintain his/her fellowship with God, no matter what the circumstances, good or bad. A good son accepts his father’s correction. “He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly,” says the Bible in Proverbs 13:24. Do not therefore despise the chastisement you receive from your heavenly Father when you do wrong; do not lose heart when He rebukes you (Hebrews 12:5). Yes, Beloved, “For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.” (Hebrews 12:6).

God is your Father since the day you accepted Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. He has an extraordinary plan for your life and a glorious inheritance is in store for you. In your prayers, consider Him as your Father and in His love, He will answer you. Be a good son/daughter. Learn to gladden  the heart of God, your Father (Proverbs 15:20), honor Him continually.  In this way, you will live and see His glory!

May God bless you [user:firstname | default:Beloved]
