Hello Beloved,
The Bible tells us in John 5:2-8, the story of a crippled man who spent 38 years by the pool of Bethesda, hoping to be healed during the visitation of the angel who came “at a certain time” to stir up the water. “When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”(John 5:6-7).
This man could have simply answered, “Yes Jesus, I want to be healed”! But he was convinced that the only way for him to get well was if he could throw himself first into the pool when the angel came to stir up the water.
How often do you make this kind of mistake when faced with the many challenges of your life? You do not dare to ask your heavenly Father for a job in an international organization because you feel that you have no one to pull strings for you? You don’t dare to ask to go on holiday with your family, in a country that you dream so much about, because you don’t have enough money in your account?
I used to think that way, Beloved. I wanted to become a homeowner but I did not dare to ask the Father because my financial means did not allow me to acquire a house; until the day when the Lord admonished me. “Mohammed, why are you looking at your bank account and why aren’t you asking me to just give you a house?” I was not different from the crippled man by the pool of Bethesda! When the Father called me to order, I changed my way of thinking and simply asked Him to give me a house. And he did so! God went through someone to offer me a house, and later on another one!
The Bible encourages you to ask the heavenly Father for your daily bread and not for money to buy the bread. Do not try to dictate to God the way He wants to bless you. “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”(John 5:8), He simply told the crippled man and the miracle happened! Therefore, do not suggest to God the ways He should go about in order to bless you or meet your needs.
God does not have to use money to bless you either. In order to get more bread to feed the 5000 hungry people, Jesus did not take money out of His pocket. The Bible says that He simply gave thanks to the Father for the 5 loaves of bread and two fish that He had in His hands and the multiplication took place!
“How can this be” (Luke 1:34), Mary asked the angel who told her that she was going to be pregnant because she knew no man. The “how” belongs to the Lord. Just ask for the bread. God is faithful and He will give you the bread. In His own way!
May God bless you Beloved
