Hello Beloved,
The mirror is that object that we each have, and which reflects our image. Your mirror enables you to examine the parts of your body that your eyes cannot see, but that other people see. A woman with make-up will look at herself in the mirror to check if her eyebrow design is perfect or if the red lipstick doesn’t overflow. If it does, then the mirror enables her to adjust present a better image of herself. Whatever her expertise she has in making up, she cannot do without the mirror because she needs to ensure she is doing the right thing. Likewise, a man who is about to go out, looks at himself in the mirror to see if his tie is well put or if his hair is well combed, leading him to make adjustments in case it is awry.
The Bible compares the Word of God to a mirror in which the Christian looks at himself. “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was…” (James 1: 23). He doesn’t seek to question himself or rectify a flaw when he looks at himself in the Word of God.
Beloved, humbly make the Word of God your spiritual mirror, the mirror that reveals to you your flaws, faults, failures, mistakes and that allows you to improve and overcome your weaknesses, to give the best of yourself every day, to please God and be a blessing to others.
Many Christians are eager to preach the Word of GOD to others to cause them to change without them working, through the Word, on their own transformation. ” And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Say the Bible in Matthew 7: 3. Only the mirror allows you to see the plank that is in your own eye, this plank that your neighbour sees! By removing your plank, you will easily remove the speck that is in the eye of your brother or sister. However, he / she will be touched because you will have been a good example to follow!
“ But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” Says the Bible in 2 Corinthians 3 : 18. Having an unveiled face means to lay bare before the Word of God, be true before God! By contemplating Jesus who is the Word of God (Revelation 19 (13b ), by contemplating His glory as in a mirror, you undergo a transformation that is deepening every day and that, from glory to glory, makes you look like Christ. However, this transformation is not possible if you do not put His Word into practice!
” … But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. ” says the Bible in James 1: 25. Yes, beloved, you will succeed in all your endeavours and you will enjoy happiness in all areas of your life if you put the Word of God into practice. Make the Word of God your mirror daily and let it transform you into the image of Christ!
May God bless you Beloved
