Hello [subscriber:firstname | default:Beloved],
It is written in Deuteronomy 28:8: “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you”. This is the 6th of the 12 blessings mentioned in Deuteronomy 28:1-13. God calls it THE blessing and it is through it that all the other 11 materialize.
God gives a command to the blessing: to be attached to you so that you will succeed, not in some of your undertakings but in all of them. Isn’t that wonderful?
Several heroes in the Bible manifested this. I will particularly focus on the example of Joseph. He was the favorite son of Jacob, who gave him a coat of many colors. When he was sold by his brothers as a slave, his presence allowed his master to experience prosperity. According to Genesis 39:2,5 “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. (…) So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.” Even when he was falsely accused of adultery by Potiphar’s wife and thrown into prison, success attached itself to him (Genesis 39:21,23).
Beloved, the LORD was with Joseph and this glorious, permanent presence of God in his life, guaranteed success in his undertakings. Didn’t the Lord Jesus say that He is with us even to the end of the age? (Matthew 28:20) When you consider your life and many challenges, perhaps you wonder at times if God is really with you. You must not doubt this at all. You must believe in the Word and abide in it.
To abide means to stay in a place, to reside there. It is imperative that you abide in the Word if you want to see God’s blessing pursue you and attach itself to your life. ” Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed., And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (…)And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever“ ,John 8:31-32,35 says. The Bible reveals in this passage that sons are those who abide in the Word of God and not people who are slaves to sin, the world and all kinds of curses. As a son/daughter of God, you get the grace to belong to Him and to have His glorious presence in your life.
How does one become a son/daughter of God ? ”To all who have received Him (who have received the Word that is Jesus) But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name”, (John 1 :12). I may surprise you, but not all humans are children of God. We are all born as creatures of God. However, to become a child of God, we must do two basic things: receive Jesus and believe in His name. Indeed, it is the combination of these elements that will make the Almighty God your Father.
Have you received Jesus and do you believe in His name? If you have not yet done so, I urge you to do so, for only the sons/daughters of God can manifest in their lives the blessing contained in Deuteronomy 28:8. If you have received Christ and believe in His name, then know that you have been born of God and you bear His name, just as you bore the name of your biological parents at birth. As a son/daughter, born of God, you bear the name of Jesus, the name before which every knee bows (Philippians 2:9-10), including the knee of the situation you are going through right now. It is therefore imperative that after receiving Christ, you believe in His name
Because the name of your God is upon you, I come in the name of Jesus to declare this about your life:
May the Lord bless you and keep you! May He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you! May He turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26)! May God’s blessing follow you in all areas because your God has commanded it to be with you!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life (Psalms 23:6)!
Receive THE blessing, in the name of Jesus !
May God bless you!
