Purify your conscience!

Purify your conscience!

Hello Beloved,

I would like, this day, to introduce to you one of the elements mentioned in the Bible that makes many children of God lose faith: it is an unclean conscience. Indeed, in 1 Timothy 1:19, the Word of God recommends that you keep faith and a good conscience. Those who have lost this good conscience « have suffered shipwreck » regarding their faith, according to the Holy Scriptures. A defiled conscience thus leads to disbelief.

When Peter saw the Lord Jesus walking on the water, he asked if he could join Him in order to do as the Lord did. “Come”, said the Master. “But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” says the Bible in Matthew 14:28-31. Peter noticed that the wind was strong and his conscience was immediately defiled by this external element which raised doubts in him. His faith was shipwrecked!

Beloved, you claim to believe in the Lord’s ability to heal you from any disease; but why do you doubt since you heard the doctor’s verdict concerning this so-called incurable disease (by humans)? Your conscience has been defiled by this information! You are planning to organize an evangelism crusade to win thousands of souls for Christ. But when you compare the size of your budget with the humble conditions of the people in your church, it defiles your conscience and perhaps without you knowing it, it makes you doubt the Lord’s ability to provide for your need!  You may not have studied for long, but do you consider this a handicap to succeed in life? If that’s the case, then your conscience has been defiled! You have been married for several years; thus, the thought of menopause can defile your conscience and make you lose faith… Examples are legion! The information you received, such as prejudices, misconceptions, is perceived by your five senses. This information is an external factor, a corrupting element that defiles your conscience and makes you lose faith!

How then can you purify your conscience and make it pure? Just listening to the word of God occasionally and believing in it at once does not give you a faith that lasts over time. The stain that polluted your conscience is like a deposit in a glass in which clean water is poured. Adding water once or twice does not make the water pure; on the contrary, it results in a corrupt content. But when you put the same glass under a clean water tap and open it and let the water overflow for a long time, you will see the dirt dissipate.  The content will gradually become clearer until it becomes completely clean water! The same is true of your conscience and the water of the Word of God.

To purify your conscience, which can be defiled, you must dwell in the Word of God. “…Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever”, 1 Peter 1:23. Beloved, only the living and permanent Word of God can totally regenerate you, purify your conscience and influence your reflexes. Abide permanently in this Word because It declares that through the wounds of Christ you have been healed.  It also tells you that Sarah was able to conceive at 90, that God is your Father and that He provides for your needs regardless of your background or circumstances, etc. Therefore, build your faith on the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17) in every situation of your life. If the words of Christ remain in you, your conscience will be kept pure; you will ask your heavenly Father what you want and He will grant it to you (John 15:7)!

May God bless you Beloved
