Hello [subscriber:firstname | default:Beloved],
It is written in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. I do not give you as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled nor be alarmed”. While meditating on this verse, I asked myself a question: how does the world give peace to humans?
In times of crisis, you may be on the lookout for news or information. When the media reports, for example, that the country’s economy is doing well, or that the political situation is stable, or that the nation you are in is safe, you immediately feel a certain peace. But as soon as they announce unrest, disturbances of any kind, you immediately loose that peace and give in to anxiety and panic. This is what the peace that the world provides is all about: it depends on the circumstances.
The enemy knows that your prayer life will be weakened and ineffective if you give in to anxiety, even when you pray. That is why he causes panic, anxiety and fear. He knows that if you give in, you will not be able to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
“Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God, and believe in Me,” says the Lord to the children of God (John 14:1). Yes, Beloved, the Lord asks you to believe in Him, whatever the circumstances. He gives you His peace, different from that which the world provides. “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength“, the Bible says in Isaiah 30:15. Only the peace that Christ provides can give you the strength to pray effectively for your nation, your church, your family, etc.” (Isaiah 30:15). So it is important that you trust your God and believe that He is in control of the situation you are going through. “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord,” warns the Bible in James 1:6-7.
Believe and do not doubt! It is not the news in the media or on social networks that will give you the peace of Christ. I am not forbidding you from seeking information from those sources, but if you want the peace of the Lord, meditate on the word of God and you will see that the Holy Spirit will lead you to the biblical passages that will reassure you, strengthen your trust in God and give you calm and serenity so that you can pray effectively.
Let not your heart be troubled. Trust in the Lord: He is in control!
May God bless you!
