The Word of God tells us an extraordinary story in Matthew 4: 22-3. The Lord Jesus asks the disciples to use a boat to precede him on the other side of the sea, the time for him to finish praying on the mountain. When finished, He decides to join them by walking on the water. Upon seeing this uncommon image, the disciples are frightened but Jesus calms them. “Rest assured, it’s Me,” He told them. Peter then presents a special request to the Master: “Lord, if it is You, order me to go to you on the waters“. Jesus said to him, “Come!”.
Peter then leaves the boat and begins to walk on the water. Unfortunately, seeing that the wind is strong, he gets scared, begins to sink and calls the Master to his rescue. “Lord, save me,” he cried. The Master extends his hand to him, seizes him, makes him get into the boat, and tells him: “Man of little faith, why did you doubt? (Matthew 14: 31b).
Did Peter tell the Lord that He no longer believed in Him? Did he utter a single word showing doubts about him walking on the water? No! He began to sink as soon as he diverted his attention from Christ to look at the strong wind (Matthew 14:30).
Beloved, you are praying for a situation to be resolved. It may be a persistent situation in your life. And you believe deep in your heart that your God is able to find a solution to what seems humanly impossible. The Lord began to answer you. But when you divert your attention from the Lord to look at the circumstances and the reality, you are afraid and start doubting. This interrupts the downloading process of your blessing. That is exactly what happened to Peter: “Seeing that the wind was strong,” Peter was afraid and the miracle was interrupted.
So, what do you see? The diagnosis of the doctor who declares the incurable disease in your body? Do you see that age advancing and still no spouse? The menopause at your door and still no child? The owner who comes to claim unpaid rent? The school fees to pay when having to return to school while the salary is insufficient? The unbelief of your beloved for whom you have been praying for years?
All these circumstances are like the strong wind which disturbed Peter during his walk on the water and which has put doubt in him. Doubt prevents the answer from coming. “(…) because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, agitated by the wind and pushed from side to side. Such a man should not imagine that he will receive anything from the Lord “says the Word of God in James 1: 6b-7.
What should we do then to banish doubt and believe in the divine miracle despite the circumstances? “But when you pray, enter your room, close your door” says the Bible in Matthew 6: 6. Yes, Beloved, if you want to see the Lord make you live the supernatural that will change the situation when you pray, close the door of your heart to “the strength of the wind” and in the chamber of your heart, remain focused on Jesus. Above all, keep the door shut when you speak to Him in the secret place, so as not to allow doubt to disturb you. Thus, you will see the glory of God and live in the divine supernatural !
May God bless you Beloved
”…which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come”.
”In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name (…) ”
”…and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power”.
1 Chronicles 29:11
”Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all!”
”I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.. ”.
”How great are His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion is from generation to generation”.
