Hello [user:firstname | default:Beloved],
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel”, says the Bible in Genesis 3:15.
The Word of God calls born again Christians “the woman’s seed” because Jesus, of whom they descend, is the only man who came on earth without having been conceived by a man and a woman. And God has granted victory over Satan to this seed.
However, if you pay close attention, you will realize that this victory does not seem to be complete because the enemy has the possibility, according to this text of Genesis 3:15, to bruise the heel of the children of God and they shall bruise his head in a spiritual warfare. This is alarming, isn’t it? However, this is evident in the daily lives of the sons of God. They fight disease, unemployment, celibacy, death, barrenness, poverty, etc., and the enemy comes back to attack them so many times. Why are the sons of God so vulnerable? How can we completely defeat the enemy? Which weapon should we use?
In Ephesians 6:14-17, the Bible mentions the spiritual weapons that a child of God must take to fight the world of darkness. But among the elements of the armor that you are recommended to wear, there is one in particular that holds my attention today: the shoes! “and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace,” says the Bible in Ephesians 6:15.
The Lord Jesus sent his disciples to spread the gospel of salvation to the lost souls (Luke 10:1-9,18-19). Then, the Lord Jesus himself witnessed the fall of the enemy, saying, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18) before proclaiming with strength and power: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). Yes, Beloved, after they returned from evangelism, the disciples were no longer vulnerable in their fight against Satan as is the case in Genesis 3:15! Because they proclaimed the gospel, nothing more would be able to harm them when they trample on snakes, scorpions and all the power of the enemy. They had shod their feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace as a weapon to defeat him. Hallelujah!
It is not in vain that the Bible tells you that you have overcome the enemy, not only by the blood Jesus shed for you, but also by the words of your testimony. Or, in other words, by preaching the gospel and testifying about Christ (Revelation 12:11). So, would you like to have a complete victory over the enemy that hinders you from fully possessing your inheritance? Wear your shoes! Be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace! Be a witness of Christ to those around you! Announce the good news with zeal so that the lost souls around you may be saved. Surely, complete victory over all your life’s challenges will be your portion.
May God bless you Beloved
